The four-member committees were formed for Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to finalise candidate lists to contest the forthcoming state elections
The Congress party has formed screening committees to select candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will chair the panel for Assam. Other committees will be led by Madhusudan Mistry for Kerala, TS Singh Deo for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, and B K Hariprasad for West Bengal.
This is the first organisational (short-term assignment) Vadra getting after she ceased to be AICC generat secretary in-charge of Uttara Pradesh. Since then she has been a general secretary without specific assignment even as she became a Lok Sabha member from Wayanad.
